The U.S. Supreme Court has upheld the legality of the checkoff programs as \u201cgovernment speech\u201d, finding: \u201cthe message \u2026 is controlled by the Federal Government.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The report has some interesting findings about the checkoff. \u00a0Although checkoff funds are supposed to be used for generic marketing, the dairy checkoff helped:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>McDonald\u2019s make sure that dairy foods play an important role in product development.<\/li>\n<li>Taco Bell introduce its double steak quesadillas and cheese shreds.<\/li>\n<li>Pizza Hut develop its 3-Cheese Stuffed Crust Pizza and \u201cSummer of Cheese\u201d ad campaign.<\/li>\n<li>Dominos add more cheese to its pizzas as a result of a $35 million partnership.<\/li>\n<li>Domino\u2019s \u201cSmart Slice\u201d program introduce its pizza to more than 2,000 schools in 2011.<\/li>\n<li>Promote \u201cChocolate Milk Has Muscle\u201d and \u201cRaise Your Hand for Chocolate Milk.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I like dairy foods, but should the government be doing this?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Government funds dairy promotions which are then siphoned off by junk food manufacturers including dairy in their junk products&#8230; everything is awesome!!!!
